Larry was just a kitten when a compassionate person saw him – alone and vulnerable – in the middle of a busy road. The tiny orange cat’s eyes were glued shut with sickness, and his small body was emaciated, matted, and covered with blood. Larry needed medical care and nutrition – right away.
The person who found Larry immediately brought him to the Dumb Friends League San Luis Valley Animal Center, where our veterinarians diagnosed him with a serious eye infection and began gently feeding him from a syringe. At first, things looked grim; despite finally receiving treatment, nourishment, and loving affection, Larry wasn’t expected to survive.
However, with continued care from people who refused to give up on him, Larry beat the odds, regaining his strength after two months of hands-on attention. Your gifts make it possible for our teams to provide this level of high-quality care to thousands of animals each year. Because of friends like you, sweet Larry was nurtured back to health in foster care before being adopted by a loving family!
By joining our Make a Difference Matching Gift Challenge, you can DOUBLE your impact for animals like Larry. In fact, thanks to generous supporters, every donation to the League made by December 31 will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $150,000.
