Quebec Street Shelter

holiday closingsThe Dumb Friends League has two shelters for homeless pets – our main Quebec Street shelter and administrative offices in Denver, and the Buddy Center shelter in Castle Rock. These full-service shelters offer adoptions, pet intake, lost and found services, and behavior and humane education classes for the public. The Dumb Friends League also has cat adoption partnerships with Petco and PetSmart. These off-site adoption facilities have greatly increased our cat adoptions, helping us meet our goal of finding more homes for adult cats in the metro area.

Throughout construction of the Cat Pavilion, we will continue to provide the community with our normal range of services, with some changes in how and when to access them:

  • Adoptions - access through the Adoptions entrance, as usual
  • Post-adoption care - access post-adoption medical services, such as return for treatment and surgery pickup, through the Intake entrance
  • Pet surrender/Lost & Found - access these services through the Intake entrance as usual, but please consider making an appointment when surrendering a pet due to higher volume of patrons in that entrance
  • End-of-life services - euthanasia requests should be made by appointment on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. only. Access is through the Intake entrance. Business office - access through the Adoptions entrance beginning at 8 a.m.
