"You can say any foolish thing
to a dog, and the dog will give
you a look that says,
'My God, you're right! I never would've thought of that!'"

—Dave Barry

buddy center

The Buddy CenterLocated in Castle Rock, the Buddy Center is a 16,000 square foot animal shelter, capable of accommodating up to 5,000 animals a year.

The Buddy Center is named after a very special dog adopted from the League by Debbie and Dob Bennett in 1988. Buddy's playful and affectionate personality reminded the Bennetts every day of the simple joy of loving, being loved and living in the moment. Although Buddy passed away in 1995, his memory will live on through the Bennett's generous gift to help build the new animal shelter in Douglas County.Kennel area
